5 out of 5 stars What a great web idea for kids   August 2, 2007
My daughter saw Webkins on the NBC Today show and had to have one. She now has six. The games are cute and she loves taking care of them. She likes making her cow ill and he turns green, gets an ice pack on his head and we both laugh. She has bought them pools and trampolines. It's very charming.

4 out of 5 stars My daughter LOVES it, and the website!   June 28, 2007
My daughter saved up her allowance to buy this. I thought it would be a total waste, but she LOVES it! In fact, we have had to limit her time on the website because it's all she wants to do. My daughter is 6 years old (going into 1st grade) but reads at or above a 4th grade level. That said, she has very few problems navigating the site on her own, but a non-reader would probably have difficulty and need a considerable amount of adult help.

At first, she would get frustrated at how expensive everything was and how little Kinzcash she had, but then she discovered the "Today's Activities" section. There are several "games" there that require no skill whatsoever and you get free Kinzcash (and food, or other stuff) just for clicking a button or 2.

There are a lot of games in the arcade that are too hard for her, but there are lots of games that are pretty easy too. Overall, she loves it and is saving up her allowance to get another one.

I am a little concerned about the durability of the stuffed animal itself. On the very first day, a few tufts of fur came out of the ears. It may have just been loose from the start, because I haven't seen any more loose fur since then.

I bought this for my 5 yr old son before they were all the hype, and really didnt know about the whole website thing until we got home and checked it out.It was amazing! What a great invention, it teaches your kids how to be responsible, how to be comfortable on the computer, it even has games to teach them how to type and the correct letters on the keyboard. Memory and matching games, and of course our tiny chihuahua named "Antonio" has to go with us everywhere, and my son sleeps with him every night. This is a boy who has never had an interest in stuffed animals and is more of a GI joe, Xbox fan, and he LOVES this dog like it is a real pet.SO we are buying a new one today..but i wanted to let everyone know this little chihuahua is sooo cute and soft! His head is sewn on and cocked to the side with a little grin as if to say" huh??" very very cute.We are getting either the cat, or the gorilla today...and I hope it is as cute! You cant go wrong with webkinz. they are alot of fun.

5 out of 5 stars Webkinz - Not just for kids....   May 16, 2007

These little guys are great. You can find them cheaper (if you can find them) in stores, but Amazon has a pretty good selection. Save your money and don't buy the "retired" ones. Who cares how common it is? I find myself playing the arcade games to earn cash for my kids to spend. They have some great Trivia questions that provide some thinking, but most of the online fun is in playing games and interacting with your pet. Plus, my 5 year old LOVES her 'Lil Kinz Chihuahua. He is the perfect size to fit in his shoebox bed and to travel around with us. I think it is a great concept, and not as bad as some parents make them out to be. As with everything in life, you must interact with your child, set limits and know when to say "No." But I have found these guys cute, entertaining and fun for the whole family.

For those who don't know, the "money" you earn playing games is spent in the virtual world to build a home for your pet online. I suggest taking the time to build a home for the real pet as well, so the kids aren't turning into zombies in front of the computer. Dogs need to go for a walk don't they? I make sure my daughter walks hers every day (weather allowing) and she never has to worry about "curbing" her dog either.

Just a really fun toy that you can spend a lot or little time on line with, but fun on its own without the virtual side.

I was a little reluctant to order this item because it was a "Lil Kinz" instead of a regular "Webkinz", but it had the internet capability and my son really wanted a webkinz, so I ordered it. Fortunately, it is exactly the same as a regular webkinz, only a little smaller in size, which I think is better. We are very pleased with the toy, my 7 yr. old son loves it, however, I thought it was way over priced, and it was one of the cheapest webkinz listed on Amazon. If you can find webkinz in your local store, you can buy them for half the price paid here, but the catch is, "if you can find them". I'm glad we were able to get this one, however, I will wait for my local store to restock before I pay this high price on Amazon again.
